History
Abhishek was born on 5th February 1976 in Mumbai, to a literary and a Bollywood family. He is the son of the iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan, the Big B of Bollywood; hence Abhishek is known as Jr. B or Junior Bachchan. His mother is also a veteran actress and politician, Jaya Bachchan. His maternal grandfather was an acclaimed journalist and a poet, Taroon Kumar Bhaduri, and his paternal grandfather was Harivansh Rai Bachchan who was also renowned poet and writer. Abhishek completed his studies at Jamnabhai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School, both in Mumbai, Modern School in Delhi, and Aiglon College in Switzerland. He enrolled to Boston University but dropped out to pursue acting. During childhood, he was diagnosed with Dyslexia. But he didn’t let this become a hindrance in the way of following his dreams.
Acting Career
Abhishek made his debut alongside another debutante, Kareena Kapoor, in Bollywood in 2000 with Refugee, a war drama film by J P Dutta. The film was not a massive hit at the box office, but both actors received praise for their work in the film. His subsequent films include Zameen, LOC: Kargil, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Run, and Phir Milenge. He won his first award, Best Supporting Actor, for his 2003 film Yuva. He also worked in movies with his father, like Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. He is the only actor who has played the role of father of his father in the movie Paa. Everyone widely praised this film which even won a National Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. His notable works include Dhoom, Guru, Bol Bachchan, and Happy New Year. Other than the big screen, Abhishek has also worked in the OTT series, Breathe: Into the Shadows, where he played the role of a psychopath impressively.

Personal Life
During the shoot of Dhoom 2, he fell in love with his co-star Aishwarya Rai, and they were married the following year. Aishwarya Rai is one of the most prominent female actors in Bollywood and also the 1994 Miss World beauty pageant winner. They have a daughter named Aradhya.
